These past few weeks I have found new confidence in Goblin, and myself, which is very exciting. Instead of just working on the things Leonie teaches me, and waiting until the next lesson to take it that next step, I actually started taking the next steps. 'What if I just put my leg here, and ask for this...' And the results are wonderful for both of us!
Goblin has taken a few baby steps of shoulder in, and will now leg yeild in walk and beginning to in trot. We also decided to increase the jump height a bit, and try some bigger logs. After an initial stop from Goblin he was more then happy to trot over on the second attempt, before cantering over :) The log is probably max. grade 4, small grade 3 height..60cm maybe?
Confidence is a wonderful thing!
Kirsty, from Equine Dynamics, visited us this week and Goblin enjoyed his treatment very much! Not too many sore spots, which I was a little suprised at, seeing he has been jumping and starting laterals, but very happy all the same! The next days ride was just amazing. We had a nice jump into canter and the trot flowed so smoothly. Just love what Kirsty can do!
This weekend Goblin and I are heading to Deniliquin Gymkhana, to try our luck..I mean skill, in the hacking rings ;) They are also running some show jumping, so we might end up over there :) Will hopefully have some photos of him all glam and strutting his stuff!
