Goblin Has a Win!

Today was the local Pony club's Combined Training day. I had entered Goblin in the grade 5, as this would be his first start. I had also put Gamble in the grade 1, just for fun!
First up was Gamble and his dressage. It was not our best test by far, but there were a few nice bits to it. I was a bit disapointed as I know what we are capable of doing, and it's our home grounds!!! So had to move on from that, and concentrate on Goblin, who's test was next.
He warmed up beautifully, and went into the arena and did a great test. I was really happy with him. A few people watching commented to me after the test, what a loverly horse he is, and his movement was amazing! When I told them this was his first CT day and about his 3rd outing or so, they couldn't believe it.
Goblin had a short break before we headed out show jumping. The course was quite intimidating for grade 5, but he popped around the course like he had done it 100 times. Clear round, 1 time penalty.
Goblin was 2nd after the dressage, and with our clear round and 1 time penalty this put us in =1st, and on count back we won! YAY! Goblin had won his first competition :)
Gamble was next to show jump, and the course looked big - especially coming from me just jumping grade 5! Gammy warmed up beautifully and I knew he had his mind on the job. He flew around the course, and just had the last fence down. Such a shame, as I was thinking coming into that fence, I really should half halt him about now....but I didn't! It was really great as everyone came over to watch, so we had a large audience..makes me nervous! But Gamble showed his talent and jumped a super round, and won the grade 1 section! 2 blue ribbons in one day, I'd call that a good day!
