Another Week, More Improvements!

Mr Golden Goblin has been continuing his good form working his little heart out this past week. I have set up a sharks tooth grid with poles initially on the ground before raising them to about 45cm. We started of walking through it until he got the idea of going over the poles and then turning, without dropping his shoulders in. And the excercise really is helping to free up his shoulders. So after walking and trotting over it a few times this week, I decided today that we would try and canter a few of them. Expecting him to canter all through it was a bit much at this stage, as his canter is still strengthening and developing. So we started with one and then getting a nice curve to another part of the grid. Anyways he was wonderful. Cantered in and popped over them, nice circle to the next and pop. We did this a few times, and occationally he would trot a few strides before the rails and pop over, but he was very good. And the striding into the poles has improved out of sight! My inital attempt at cantering over rails was...uncomfortable for both of us! Goblin wasn't sure where to put his legs or when to lift them and rails fell and generally it was uncomfortable all round! So it was a great relief to see that he was reading the rails a LOT better and the take off were exactly where they should be. Awesome!
Goblin is also starting to become more consistant with stretching down at the walk, and realising that it is quite nice down there! I just need to convince him that it is equally nice down there at the trot. His canter has also improved, no longer has one good side and one really average..but one very nice and one not too bad! Its starting to get harder to tell the difference between the bad leg ad the good. That's what we want!!! Good Goblin, keep up the good work pony :)
