Anyways we were finished by lunch time, so happy days! Back home to re pack for tomorrow's trip to Wangratta Dressage day.
We had entered the unofficial 1A and 2A test and were 2nd to ride in the 1A, so that meant an early start Sunday morning.
It started with me having to wake Gammy up in the paddock, he was all curled up still snoozing, aww poor man!
At Wang he warmed up perfectly, I couldn't have hoped for him to feel better. We went into the ring and it all changed. He felt tence and was not flexing to the left like he was in warm up. Aghh! I was disapointed as I walked out of the arena, as we should have done soo much better for such a basic test. I watched a few of the other horses and saw plenty that I would have scored better then mine. I had about 1.5hrs before my next test, and I was determined to do much better in the 2A.
Again he warmed up beautifully in the warm up. We got into the arena and he still felt good. YAY! We tried to keep the nice forward rhythem and be as accurate as possible. Serpintines are tricky, but I was pretty happy with this set.
Overall I was much happier with how we both rode this test. So back to the float we went, unplaited and packed up ready to go when scores came up. I wasn't expecting to place, especially in the 1A, and the quality of horses in the 2A, I doubted we would be in the top 6, but hoped to be in top 10.
It wasn't too long until results were up. I started looking at the 1A from the bottom of the page..kept going up, and up...and up?! Umm where is my name?? Oh maybe they havn't put the names in order from 1st-last, so skipped to the top, as I was 2nd to ride...hmm hang on, my names at the top..but I rode 2nd..What the??? We won..! How did that happen!?? I had to stand there for a few minutes to process that yes infact we had somehow won the test I didn't like and that there was a 1st next to us?! Woo hoo!! I think I would have been more excited if I was happy with our test and that we had given it our best shot, but I felt we hadn't and that there were nicer tests ridden. Oh well! A win is a win!!
Next up was the 2A, and I was stoaked to see that we had placed again, coming 5th! YAAAY! Go Gamble! So we waited for presentations and picked our 2 ribbons and $50 prize money for coming 1st! That was a nice suprise!
We don't have a lot of competion coming up but hopefully we will find somthing soon, we seem to be on a roll again :)
