Ballarat Dressage champs was our last competition for the year, and I couldn't be more happy with Goblin. To bring home rosettes at his first unofficial EFA competition almost brought me to tears! In December I turned Gamble out for 6 weeks, and kept Goblin in work, as we have decided to advertise him for sale. He is such a beautiful horse bursting with talent.
We have been consentrating a lot on the flat work, and he now trot shoulder in's almost as good as Gamble! I took the boys show jump training for the first time this year and Goblin continues to amaze me with his Can do attitude. The jumps were sitting about 60cm and I made a decent spread for him. Not once did he look at any fences and just jumped them like a seasoned pro! He actually gives me confidence to try new things with him, which is awesome! I now have to put the jumps up a few more holes and get some decent hights happening. He is much more confident between fences and combinations and has been reading the distances a lot better now. I can safely say we are out of the baby zone, and into the next level!
There are a few show jump competitions starting in February, so if he is still in my paddock by then, he will be out and about, hopefully brining home some more ribbons :) Every event he has been to he has brought some home! Not bad for his first season out! I think that's a sign of what's ahead for this super boy!
